欧州委員会の共同研究センター（Joint Research Center、JRC）は、7月18日、"Understanding our Political Nature: How to put knowledge and reason at the heart of political decision-making"（試訳：我々の政治的特性を理解する：知識と理性をいかに政治的意思決定の中心に置くか）と題するレポートを公開した。
本レポートは、世界から60名の行動科学や社会科学の専門家が参加し、「何が政治的意思決定に影響を与えるか」について検討した結果を取りまとめたもの。誤解と偽情報、集団的知性、感情、価値とアイデンティティ、エビデンスに基づく政策形成の重要性等7要因を挙げ、それぞれに1章をあてている。
本レポートにまとめられた行動科学や社会科学の成果が、政治的行動に対する洞察を与え、近年の民主主義の危機に対応していくための可能性を持つとしている。
