OCLC Researchとオックスフォード大学が、中等教育後期から高等教育に移行期の学生におけるWeb利用行動について共同研究を開始することが明らかになった。
研究のタイトルは"Visitors and Residents: What Motivates Engagement with the Digital Information Environment?"というもので、"digital residents and visitors"（オンラインを生活の一部としてとらえWebを自己の確立や関係性の構築に用いるデジタル居住者と特定のゴールに向けてWebをツールとして使うデジタル訪問者）の調査を行い、米国と英国の学生の違いも調べ、今後の教育サービスやシステムに活かす。プロジェクトの期間は6か月で、英国情報システム合同委員会（JISC）の資金提供を受けて実施するとのこと。
