Elsevierはこのたび、エジプトのアレクサンドリア図書館（Library of Alexandria、BA）（Wikipedia解説）との間で、世界の後発発展途上国・低所得国の研究者150名にScienceDirectとScopusへの無料（courtesy）アクセスを提供する3か年協定を締結した。
これらのデータベース上の文献は、HIV/AIDS、マラリア、結核などの疾病治療・予防研究他に役立てられる模様。
